Olympic champion for both the individual and team medals in 1984, a silver team medal in 1988, world individual champion in 1982 and team world champion in 1986.

Individual world silver in 1981 and 1986.
Individual world bronze in 1979, and team 1981, 1982 and 1985.
10 times Italian overall individual champion and 14 times Italian overall team champion.
1989 to 1992 technical director for the Italian male modern Pentathlon.

Daniele Masala has a degree in physical education, researcher and university professor at the university of Cassino and Southern Lazio.
He has been awarded the Italian knight order of merit. Journalist since 1994.
He was part of the G.S. Fiamme Oro (Italian Police) reaching Superior Inspector.
He worked in the marketing division for ARENA from 1992 to 1998.
He was the commentator for Radio Rai for the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992, Atlanta in 1996, Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004, Peking in 2008, London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
